I'm afraid for a man like that you will need to make the moves. I've been with and married a man like that. Once you get over some of the awkward relationship hurdles, then he will be quite different.

The real nice, intelligent, genuine men are far and few between. He sound worth pursuing, and he's already giving you the signals by saying you can call him too. If you really like him, and are GENUINELY interested in him too, then you will need to be the pursuer. If he is really interested in you also, he will be flattered.
