Bronchitis can also caused by damage to the lungs by breathing in toxic fumes or having infection a long time etc
The body must repair this damage itself after the infection has been removed if that is the cause
In the case of infection it continues because of a weakened immune system so other measures to improve your health and strength of you lungs are needed.
