B6 converts tryptophan into serotonin in the blood. that sounds like a good thing, but its not. high blood levels of serotonin can be dangerous and are hard on the heart, the serotoninin in the blood also does not cross the blood brain barrier, thus it doesn't help you feel better. instead you body detects high serotonin levels and stops making serotonin everywhere, including the brain. the end result is that you have high serotonin levels in your blood (where you dont want it) and low serotonin levels in your brain (where you do want it). i would suggest stop taking the B6, and eat foods high in tryptophan which is the precursor to the mood neurotransmitters.

i think you can get zinc into your system without using B6, yes? for this reason i would also stop taking a B complex with B6 if you have been doing that too. right now you have B6 overload and need to stop ALL B6 for a good while.

EDIT - some have suggested that the B6 actually converts all the tryptophan in your blood into niacin, thus starving your whole body of serotonin and melotonin, both of which are made from tryptophan. some have even said B6 is not a vitamin, and not necessary at all.
