Hey eritrean,

I didn't peel the skin for almost two months, this too one two occasions! I didn’t see any improvements. When I peeled after two month the skin was raw underneath as usual. Go to the peeling lips Picture Gallery and see the pics posted under the name kartiks. You'll see how awful the lips became without the peel for two months. I do believe that leaving the skin alone for a long time (at least few years) would help but not if are planning to leave it for say just a couple of months. Moreover it won't be feasible to leave the skin alone for years, would it? I have done this and didn't see any improvement.

The only thing that made a huge difference to my lips was when I applied raw garlic juice over my lip for over 20 days...I did some research about the lips staying raw all the time last year and came across one site which said that "if you let the skin pile up over the lip it would trap bacteria and fungus underneath and would leave the lip in a permanent state of inflammation. I then researched about the best thing that would kill bacteria and fungus and learnt that garlic is the best thing that would help my cause!

I immediately grated some garlic and applied the juice over he crust. Mind you the lips would severely burn once applied. I applied for almost 20 days and finally saw that the inflammation was literally gone. The peeling also slowed dramatically. Tho I strongly believe that garlic juice did the trick but I also would like to give some credit to pranayama because I used to do pranayama regularly during those days for almost a month...May be it was garlic or may be it was pranayama...
