basically if you stopped using protopic/elidel(it stops inflammation) and the lips aren't fully healed. The inflammation comes back and you get a reaction...more cortisol will come to stop the inflammation, so you get worse EC... thats why some say it makes EC worse. Some say it cured/helped them. So protopic should be used only until %100 cured. I just read an article about using it for a following 2 weeks after cured condition for maintenance to prevent a reaction.

It can bring the lips back from chronic to acute inflammation(needed for healing). The acute inflammation has to heal the lips though, or it all for nothing.


acute inflammation is swelling, red, etc btw... its needed to heal everything in our body.
