A lot depends on the distribution system that applies to your area, I think, Imitchy.

I believe that all mail from, say, Mississippi comes in at one port, and then goes to various sorting stations. The fewer sorting stations used, the more the mail may zig-zag, I believe. ...Such as the mail from Vancouver, having to go to Winnipeg for sorting, before being sent back to the interior of B.C.

Then, too, finer and finer sortings may have to occur as it travels to smaller and more remote destinations.

It may travel by truck, or plane, between points, and be subject to volume restrictions from time to time. Like, must there be a full load, or no more than a certain poundage? I don't know and I'd certainly hate to have to find out.

Apparently a parcel to, say, Calgary, is delivered far sooner than one to the interior of B.C.

I just shrug and order earlier...maybe two rounds at a time. Or always two months ahead.

I haven't done it yet but perhaps an email to Steven that there is 'no rush' on this order would be useful to the company...then they could just work on it when they have a lull.

Was that R.G. giggling?

Do you know, I've been saving the big envelopes, simply for the beautiful clear handwriting of the young woman who addresses them. I bless her every time I see them in my kitchen drawer. I'll be reluctant to retire them when we pack to move.

There was an especialy lovely scent to my last order. I opened it beside my favorite chair, and the aroma changed the atmosphere over the following hour.

Good stuff!
