G, you've seen me mention the book The Coconut Oil Miracle by Bruce Fiffe.  In this book, he explains the science behind coconut oils ability to overcome bacterial and viral infections.  They both have a higher tension cell membrane/the oil water ratio makes for a tighter membrane.  Coconut oil has the ability to incoperate into the membrane, losening it up.  The internal pressure causes the bacteria and virus to selfdestruct.
