There was no possible way of negotiating with Saddam Hussein as he commited mass murder and tortures against the shiite and kurds, as he refused to cooperate with the UN inspection team. Not that al=qaeda or hezbollah are any better. The hezbollah were murdering again in Lebanon this week

That is why it was possible for Saddam to stand trial in iraq along with his other murderous friends.
