I am new to the Metabolic Typing Diet-- a High Protein, Slow Oxidizing Type with Blood type A-- and am having heartburn for the first time in years. A naturopath told me I was "too alkaline," and that is substantiated by this diet's typing, because "high protein" types tend to have high alkalinity. If this is true, then why is my urine testing "acidic' now? And why am I having heartburn from following a diet that's supposed to be good for me? Any ideas?
