because thats the source. cortisol comes from the adrenal glands. pituitary gland is mentioned because it controls adrenal glands.

The adrenal glands keep pumping cortisol to the lip because that is where the inflammation is. The side effect takes place.

The adrenal gland are fatigued from producing so much cortisol to stop the inflammation of the lip.
