I have been taking 30 drops of 2% Lugol's/day for a while now with no bad effects at all. On the bottle it says to only take 1-2 drops. As far as I'm concerned they are dishonest about toxicity or they have confused themselves.

Iodine is suppose to be real good for cysts and things so if I were you I would try it. Slowly increase your dose until you reach at least 50 mg per day. Reduce or stop at the first signs of any problem. This is about 20 drops of 2% which is getting in the range needed for cysts.
