This type of gardening lime is an anti-microbial do to the chlorine release during its break down which is way to slow.Hyperactive microbial activity is important as far as making nutrients available through crushed rock soil amendments.There are better sources availiable out there I prefer azomite myself.Im currently growing with compost thats been cooking for 3+ years my biggest problem is keeping the damn tree roots from getting at it.They are relentless invaders of the compost pile.Jeff.
