for detoxing lead i would use the dr. andy cutler protocol. here is a yahoo group with knowledgable people about chelating lead and mercury that might help you.

as for the apple/nail thing, most nails are made from stainless steel. its true stainless steel has iron in it, but it also has nickel in it. do a google search on "nickel + cancer" and you will see why you dont want to be ingesting it.
