I think the mistake that the alkalizing diet people are making is that the foods that do most of the healing ALSO make the body alkaline. So they make the assumption that the healing that takes place, IS BECAUSE the foods are alkalizing. So then they create a diet that geared towards alkalizing the body, which still heals... but not for the reason they think it does.

The key is non-acid generating foods. Does the body generate stomach acid when a certain food is eaten, if it does... then it should be avoided. Chewing well the food greatly reduces stomach acid generated. Once the body becomes saturated with acid... from digestion, health issues start to arise. I cant explain this nearly aswell as MH can in his Book 1. Read book 108 on his website, then ask him to read book 1. I am sure he will give it to you...

Raw fruits, veggies, nutts, and seeds do not generate stomach acid like does other foods.
