I often hear about the evils of the food additive called MSG, how it may be nuerotoxic and such. And yet other people tell us to take glutamine or glutamic acid as part of a natural approach to health.

well, MSG IS glutamine! its glutamine bonded to sodium.

so why is one 'good' and the other 'bad'?
