It's all true, i've had costochondritis for about a year now and i'm only 15 going on 16. It effects exercising alot, i go jogging nearly every night and it hurts! I have athsma too so it's a heck of a job. What happens when i get my costochondritis come on, i get the real bad stabbing/ heart attack feel, but then i will get a terrible ache in the back of my sholder blades, running down my arms and sometimes in my back too, it's nasty. But i think it's one of those things you just have to learn to live with, and you really do get used to the pain, and when it may occur aswell, i have no idea if it will be chronic with me, my doctor said when he diagnosed me that it was something that happens to quite alot of young, growing people, and that you will just develop yourself out of it (or it could turn chronic), so there's not much to worry about, it can be helped with certain pills like Ibuprofen, or natural remidies etc.
