Hope your pain has subsided by now. I used to cut a fresh garlic bulb, and put the exposed side to the gum. It will burn for a while, but it did ease the pain. Rinsing with hydrogen peroxide and warm water helped too. Think i used equal parts. Or put H2O on a cotton ball and press to infected area and hold for several minutes.
