Hi Arun,

Thank you for replying to my post and for your very inspiring input into the creation of this Blog.  Its design is still a work in progress, and your contribution to it would be greatly appreciated, so please do continue organizing your questionnaires as the Blog is being created.  I hope to be able to stay in touch with you during this process.

First, let me tell you what my aspirations are in regards to the objective of this Blog.  Taking into account that the forums are alive and well providing their members personalized attention, the Blog, on the other hand, will serve as a professional tool through which body odor sufferers of all forums could provide the international scientific community the data needed to conduct their research.  At the same time, the Blog can also be an avenue through which the international scientific community can disperse its findings on body odor producing systemic diseases, such as metabolic disorders, and its recommendations for treatment.  In turn, the international medical community can make use of this information to establish and promote a recommended protocol to recognize systemic diseases, including metabolic disorders that contribute to body odor as the chief presenting sign, so that university schools of medicine may begin teaching this protocol to their students.

As documented in http://www.emedicine.com/derm/topic597.htm, under the Medical Pitfalls section, in testimony of the need for these measures, “Failure to recognize systemic diseases (eg, fish odor syndrome) that contribute to the development of offensive odor could serve as the basis for a claim of delay in diagnosis if body odor was the chief presenting sign.”  There are also countless posts in all body odor support group forums documenting the absence of protocol in the international medical community to suitably diagnose and treat a patient who presents with body odor as his or her primary symptom.

It is my sincere hope that this noble goal be obtained through this Blog.  In order for this goal to come to fruition, proactive support from all the body odor support group forums and the scientific community would be imperative.  All sufferers can contribute to this cause by participating in providing data of their symptoms to the questionnaires designed and posted by scientists such as yourself; and scientists from around the world may participate by posting articles to educate sufferers and the international medical community.  This Blog can also direct the participants to other research websites that may also be collecting data for a research study.  In other words, the objective of this Blog is to be the central point of contact to unite all body odor support group forums, scientific research institutes, medical community, and university schools of medicines throughout the world with current information, and to also be a referral network.

Although this Blog is being designed and put forth by the Body Odor and Trimethylaminuria forums at CureZone.com for the well being of the participants of all body odor support group forums, and in fact, of all sufferers of body odor throughout the world, the desired goal will not be achieved unless all body odor support groups proactively support it, promote it, and supply the much needed data to start the ball rolling in this process and to maintain its momentum.  If this project achieves success, it may even become a source of much needed fund-raising to support further research ambitions.

As I mentioned above, the creation of this Blog is still a work in progress, and to ensure its utmost professional caliber, I ask for everyone’s patience and indulgence, as we diligently work on its creation and unveiling.
