Those sound like like liver flukes to me. Liver flukes are one of the few visible parasites that will come out whole and very recognizeable. This is because they live in acid their entire life. They have probably been dead for a while - it just takes the body some time to pry them out of their "hidey-holes" and remove them from the body.
