Hey Doc (and everybody) -

Regarding the bentonite/aluminum issue -- I doubt there's a whole lot of people in the world that are more of a purist (or anti heavy metals/aluminum) than me. And I trust the "greats" of our century as much or more than anybody, and since Christopher, Schulze, Clark, Jensen, etc used a LOT of bentonite...and then I found that bentonite contained aluminum, well, I went on the ole "research warpath" really fast. Check out the article below...WHEW!

I already knew that fluoride bonds tightly to alumimum (the aluminum is what allows fluoride to cross the blood/brain barrier) but as seen in the information/link below, the aluminum in bentonite does/can NOT leave the digestive tract when used internally. So theoretically, bentonite would adsorb fluoride to it (draw electro-magnetically) and then the fluoride/aluminum would then be pooped out, hence being a way to detox from fluoride, as well as the thousands of others baddies that bentonite adsorbs (but I can't find documentation on the fluoride/bentonite theory...yet ::::grin::::)

I didn't know about the aluminum/water connection, but I know that when taking any type of clay internally, one must always ingest *plenty* of water. To my way of thinking, the fantastical benefits of bentonite far outweigh the need for a bit more water.

Anyway, the article is below...and if ANYbody has anymore light to shed (or evidence that counters this) PLEASE post it. Being proven wrong is the greatest blessing one can have (as then we get to replace a 'wrong' with a truth!), and I'm ALL FOR that kind of blessing!!

from here: ADDRESSING THE ALUMINUM ISSUE IN DETOXIFICANT
(BENTONITE, MONTMORILLONITE)

http://www.springreen.com/pdfs/faqs/Aluminum.pdf

(everybody'll want to read the entire article all the way through, not just the snippet below)

>>>This is due to the fact that the aluminum element is central to the montmorillonite molecule holding the negative charge around it as a cloud of oxygen molecules. In effect, part of the negative charge of montmorillonite is attributed to the aluminum. Removal of the aluminum from the montmorillonite molecule would result in a loss of the drawing properties of the molecule. Our bodies do not have sufficient digestive juices to split apart such a highly negatively-charged
molecule. As the Technical Data Sheet explains, the aluminum is not leachable by any means.<<<<
