Scouter, I would not say to eliminate Vit C or any supplementation for long. Only long enough to see if it makes a difference. For me, it was 2 weeks to discover that Miracle-Mineral-Supplement was really helping after all. Then I added VitC in for about 2 days a week, then more as things got better.

Diet should not be ignored. Vitamins and minerals should come more from diet than supplementation. Even apples have vitamin C. Try bell peppers; or other peppers if you dare. Supplementation of vitamins and minerals can be avoided for a while. Right?
