My hubby and I have sumpin' like 30+ flushes between us, and we've always done the Kelley flush (MINUS the extra-huge amount of Epsom Salts in the coffee enema***). We've always layed 'knee up on our stomach' with a pillow on the left shoulder for comfort, and we've never been nauseous and never had a bit of a problem (from that).

I'm going to be posting a post in the next couple of days that includes some good info about the Kelley flush...but in the meantime,*** please do NOT put 1/2 cup of Epsom Salts in a coffee enema unless you SERIOUSLY know what you're doing. ***
While that much ES will indeed seriously relax the biliary network, hence making the flush more productive (if everything's loosened up by doing the week of prepping according to Kelley's protocol)...that much Epsom Salts can cause extreme dehydration and electrolytic imbalance (and could lower the blood pressure quite a bit).

We use two tablespoons of ES in 4 cups of coffee enema solution on flush day. When doing a coffee enema on days we're not flushing, I use 1 - 1 1/2 tablespoons of ES for 4 cups of solution, and my husband always uses two tablespoons.

My mother-in-law was cured of terminal Stage IV liver cancer by Dr. Kelley back in the late 70's (at his underground clinics that were raided and shutdown), so I'm very familiar with the protocol. Kelley got his 'flush recipe' from the records of the prestigious Lahey Clinic/hospital in Boston. They used the same basic 'recipe' in the 1920's-30's for Liver Cleansing and treating people with gallbladder issues. (Back then, a gallbladder surgery was a MAJOR risk - well, going 'under the knife' for anything in that time period came with a 'you can easily die from complications and infections' disclaimer).

Neither my husband nor myself have ever had any nausea with a liver flush...and I attribute it to ginger! Ever since my very first flush I've added fresh ginger root to the olive oil. Ginger is THE most effective anti-nausea herb there is (besides cannabis, possibly) AND it's also a choleretic (it stimulates the liver to create bile!) How cool is that?! :) :) :)

What I do is take a two inch piece of fresh ginger root, peel it a bit and throw it in the blender with a little over a half-cup of olive oil (I add a bit more oil because I never get all the oil off of the inside of the blender, and I don't want to cheat myself). Then I strain the mixture through a mesh strainer (the ginger has a lot of 'fiber' that gets pulverized in the blender and makes the oil 'too thick' to me). Then we drink that, followed by a half cup+ of freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice. Occasionally at first, I'd have a slight wave of nausea, but in about 30 seconds to a couple of minutes, the ginger 'does it's thing' and the rest is smooth flushing.

While I can't say for sure that it will work for everybody...I've never known anybody that tried it that it didn't work for. HOWEVER, I believe/sense that some folks that have nausea, have it because their liver is so incredibly clogged that the minute the oil hits their stomach their body's KNOW they can't possibly produce enough bile to properly digest and process the oil...so up it comes. I've known several people I've coached in the last year (that didn't like ginger or didn't want to try it), that had various levels of nausea with their first flush. Those that did, I suggested they do a series of coffee enemas (3-5 weekly for a couple of weeks) to get things loosened up, and do a couple of "mini flushes" (eat a light/no fat breakfast-lunch and VERY light/no fat for supper - a couple of hours later take 1-3 teaspoons of ES, wait for the buttpee (or an hour to an hour and a half) and then take 2 tablespoons of olive oil followed by (or mixed with) about 1/2 cup of citrus juice...and hit the bed. Some yielded quite a few stones the next day, some only a few or none they could discern...but none threw up again on their next complete flush (though one almost did when drinking the oil, but that was a gag reflex).

Hopefully I'll get the other post posted in the next day or two (maybe tonight), so if you're interested in more information about the Kelley protocol, I'll be posting it soon.

Blankets of blessings -

Unyquity
