I am glad to read this exchange, since Paulette mentioned Petfinder when she got Paula Deen, I have been checking too.
Our dog is getting old, now 13 1/2 and I am very busy with him, making special food and 3x a day eye drops. He is blind now, but it does not look that he is suffering, but it is emotionally tiring to figure out if/when he is not feeling well anymore.

Anyhow my husband wants a rescue dog next time, we have now a pure bred shiba inu.
