Why wouldn't the Water Cure work for some people?

Around about 10 or 20 years ago, I slowly began increasing my water intake, from zero.

Somewhere around the same time I began having to get up at night to pee...destroying my sleep patterns...which, I must admit, were not all that good to begin with.

...Although I had achieved a much better weight (under 200) by grinding my own grain, and by going through an emotional time while not eating a great deal. I also pretty well gave up processed sugar, margarine, etc. over this time, and have been improving my diet steadily.

I take no meds...never really have, except for some herbals, intermittently, more recently. I did once go through 15 years of very light consumption of Fiorinal, the weaker of the two strengths...until I discovered that the pain up under the back of my skull came from drinking the occasional cup of coffee. I drink no coffee or alcohol, now.

Over the same time period my weight steadily increased back to 254, or so, and dropped again to 215 the last time I looked, a few days ago.

Yes, while increasing water intake, some 'symptoms' have shown up and subsided...for which I am grateful...but I am not sure why they appeared or disappeared.

Today I am moving my water intake more to the mornings, in hopes of sleeping through the night.

Two footbaths in a 1% Himalayan crystal salt solution caused anxiety to vanish, and more.

If you have any ideas on why my weight did not steadily drop as I improved my water intake, I would be very pleased to hear them.

Thanks,

Fledgling

How does one 'measure' their degree of dehydration?
