I have seen a lot of halitosis stories that seem the same idea as FBO. I was thinking it could maybe to do with FMO2, which is mostly present in the lungs, but I have no idea. I can guesstimate 3 sorts of halitosis : local issue, morning breath type, and 'metabolic'. The 'poop breath' would seem possibly metabolic to me. Maybe breath is an emergency exit, whereas the body deals with long-term build up through the pores instead. Who knows. I also can't rule out they have FBO too and don't realise, but I respect they know best and at the moment I believe this not to be the case.

To clarify, 'metabolic' (or blood-borne, or systemic)... It just means (to me) its going right through the system and is supposed to be neutralized. When you are drunk, for example. Or smelling of garlic after eating garlic. so you could still have leaky gut and candida, for example. I would like to see everyone tested (for free) for leaky gut and candida (as examples of a World BO Research dept at work). I think they may be common factors in the 'syndrome'.

You say your problem is chronic and constant. Has a dentist said anything to you ?
