If this will be your first MC, I would recommend reading the book and following it to the letter the first time through.  This will help you to understand how it works, how your body reacts, etc.  Keep in mind that every MC is different - your body cleanses what it needs to and will cause each cleanse to feel different to you.  After you have done the MC as it was intended by Stanley B, then if you want to start adding things in, that's your choice.
