Golthing,
Natural Laws are observable & experienced in nature. I suggest you read the book "Human Life: It's Philosophy & Laws" by H M Shelton to understand what these are and mean. I don't really have the time or the inclination to expand on this further.
There are no "Laws" of science, as they are not immutable: they are forever changing with the discoveries within new scientific fields. However, Natural law is immutable.
You have said...........
"A study of the Philosophy of Science will reveal this. Man's approach to Science is pragmatic at best. We are limited by our intellect, powers of observation, personal biases, and much more."
This statement just reinforces what I have stated earlier.
You have said.............
"The fact that there is no absolute agreement on what Science actually is, is proof enough that we are in need of supernatural guidance."
Nonsense golthing. Just because we are constantly adapting to our knowledge of Science and making new scientific discoveries, does not necessarily mean that we need supernatural guidance whatsoever.
You have said.................
"For instance, even though Shelton dedicated his entire life's work to hygienic therapy, and we can assume he was sincere and honest about his work, he could be wrong. You are taking his work on Faith. Your faith has been experimented with in your own life and that faith is bringing forth fruit in your life and the lives of others."
Absolutely nothing about Sheltons work was based on faith Golthing, but by concrete evidence of trial and error: results that were actually experienced within the physical world.
As I have said before, faith is a concept that you have to accept on trust: it is not verifiable, provable or disprovable, which is just not the same experience as Sheltons.
Sheltons work was also based on personal verifiable experience which attained tangible results, which was shared independently by many others in his field. This has nothing to do with "Faith".
Your arguments are just going nowhere golthing. I just do not see the point/s you are making.
You have said....................
"Regarding dogmatism, should someone still insist that the earth is flat, would you be willing to dogmatically oppose that supposition? I would think so. And there would be nothing wrong with that."
Golthing: "the earth is flat concept" was knocked on its head by Galileo and other Scientists after him: this is a proven and verifiable fact of science and has nothing to with dogma, or my needing to dogmatically oppose this supposition.
You have said................
"Another hypothetical: If God visited you and told you to spread his message to all ends of the earth, would you not dogmatically do so? If he warned you of dire consequences to those who did not subscribe to said message, would you not even more passionately do his will?"
Your supposition of "IF" is an act of faith. God has NOT paid me a visit to spread his message to all ends of the earth, and as you have said, this is "hypothetical" and not based on provable experience or science.
Your arguments just do not hold water.
Regards
Chrisb1.
