yes. it works wonders for me, although I never thought of it as a trick--in fact I took it for granted that everyone does it, but like most things I thought I shared with others, it turns out it's not so. I just have always loved looking at the sky, taking in that enormous beyond-all-limits 'field'. Breathing it in. I think I always felt my 'home' was more 'in there' than out here. Maybe you too, Sophia? My partner and I -esp. in summer- (even some winter nights, we bundle up and go sit outside) like nothing so much as gazing at the sky, often for hours, commenting on what cloud-forms appear, and so on.

We have seen some truly amazing things in the past, oh, seven years. Even though we live in a city and don't have a clear view past lots of surrounding buildings, we do have this area just overhead and before us that is a huge open rectangle. My son often comments that it's a unique piece of sky--it's like the best movie screen--and we feel quite *rich*. It's magical really. Within that space, the most wonderful things appear and you become aware of a level of activity going on that it truly miraculous. you see quite clearly you're not 'alone'.

Once you start looking up, I'm pretty sure what happens is that you've turned your 'dial' just slightly, and in a very real way "as above, so below". What you might think of as a trick is what I'd call Grace. The thing about Grace is, all it requires is that you "show up", and it rains down. That's maybe the REAL "secret", hmm? ;-)

Another thing that would benefit us all, who spend time on this machine, is to have quite a large painting (like 3x2 feet) or photo of pure green grass somewhere above the computer, to the left or right. (check and see which tests or feels better.) Right might be preferable. This should be situated so that you are required to stop what you're doing and look up(that is, really disengage your seeing from the monitor, or screen). I remember being taught this years and years ago. In those days they suggested we all have the computer close to an outdoor garden, and go out there every twenty minutes! I don't know about you all, but sometimes I spend up to six hours writing, composing on the computer. I do get up and move around, but don't yet have that garden, except in my mind's eye, and whatever I can grow on this long balcony.
I have a few lovely trees though that seem to do quite well in here, moving outside in summer. Thank God for them! The effect of the 'field' of green on the whole body, bathing it, counteracts the negative effects (and positive ions) generated by the exercise of computer-ing. I'm pretty sure the green of grass also re-centres the heart.

Anyone have a fountain near their computer? Anyone ever try "breathing from another place"? Sophia--this fits quite well into the concepts of vivation.

I wrote about this somewhere on CZ. Try it sometime. It's truly amazing--and will lift the "ceiling" of your imaginings of what's possible with the power of thought.
That's a side-benefit that you can't buy at any price. Grace.

Sometime when you are not able to enjoy good-quality air, (I did it on a three hour bus ride, when stuck beside someone who emitted a very deadening energy),
envision yourself as being next to a waterfull. You don't actually have to be a good visualizer to do this. Imagination is not really the tool you're using. The important thing is that you tell yourself that you are breathing *from* that waterfall place. So, in a very real sense, you 'summon' it. You don't need to hold onto a picture of it; only need to know that you have decided to breathe *from* this place. So, you just breathe easily (most of our problems with bad air, "catching sickness" etc. arise because we start contracting, and going into "I don't want to breathe this air" states of mind). It's just as Abraham says: you bathe yourself in the power of positive sustained thought. You don't say "I'm here but I want to be there".

Okay. So, after a time, you are literally feeling infused with negative ions. It's really something. I got off that (stinking) bus feeling better than I had in ages.
Just as if I'd been breathing pure Ionized Water fall air.
