I've been Water Fasting for 5 days last week, and have now had (raw) food this weekend, and then back to fasting for another 5 days... and so I hope to continue for the month of March...basically not eating from Monday to Friday.
I have been doing a bit of reading on IF and have found it to be interesting, but wondered about any healing effects as mostly there is discussion about longevity and mental acuity... rather than using IF as a healing modality.
I guess I'm experimenting with myself at the moment.
When I fast, generally it's for 10 days due to working and commitments.
During this time, a small patch of lichen planus (looks like a sort of ecxema thing) on my anke disappears. No itching, no nothing. As soon as I introduce food again, ...back it comes.
This has happened on all of my fasts.
So I'm hoping that 5 days fasting will give some time to start the healing/cleansing of this little patch and that 2 days of food won't be sufficient to start the aggravation again. I'm going to continue as long as possible with this routine.
I developed this patch right after having a jab for Hepatitis, which was compulsory for my job as a nurse at the time. That was 8 years ago. Prior to that , I had never had any skin problems and I can't think of any other factor that would have started this. I didn't continue with the series of vaccinations as I was repulsed by it and decided that my health was more important...(and left that particular job)
I guess I can only wait and see what happens, but any advice would be welcome.
