You can't give away money just because you want money to flow to you. The giving has to come from feeling really good about giving.

**Agreed, Maya. I felt good giving the money I gave away for I see it as a blessing for all involved, you see?

This is like saying "I will be nice to you, so you will have to be nice back to me in return"

**If the giving is purely mercenary, I can see how this might apply. My giving wasn't mercenary.

The way you have described your process/exercise feels like it's coming from a place of lack.

**It's no more coming from a place of lack than following the tenets of Abraham's teachings that in order to receive, all we need to do is relax & allow. Now making the conscious effort to 'relax & allow' is indeed the modus operandi, so to speak, of receiving. I feel the same 'relax & allow' frequency when I give money, time, etc.

The process is ASK, GIVEN, ALLOW . There is no process that asks you to take action.

**It does not follow, however, that taking such action thru giving to someone/something nullifies 'relax & allow'.

In your shoes, I would focus on appreciating what is already abundance in your universe.

**That is what was written by Tolle & shared in my post if you recall.

Then play the "What I want is XXX and WHY I want it is because of XXX" and find the feeling place of abundance by visualising it. From the feeling place, if it is inspired action to give to others, then do so. But taking an action journey just to *try* and manipulate the universe in giving you something may be a little upstream.

**You assume that I'm attempting to *try* and manipulate the universe. This is perhaps coming from your own consciousness? That's a huge supposition. At my level of current understanding - maybe not yours - the giving augments my process. May not always be so. Time will tell.

And if you take a really good look around you, it's clear from others experiences that you do not have to give out money to receive money. There are plenty of very rich people who have learned to allow to flow money towards themselves without ever giving to others (and I'm not saying that giving isn't a good thing)

**And there are also plenty of very rich people (Gates, and many known & relatively unknown philanthropists - simply Google philanthropists for their stories) who give to others. Oprah is a fine example.

You only have to feel abundant and believe that money will flow to you effortlessly. Just LINE UP with money. That's all you have to do.

**Feeling abundant when one isn't squarely is not do-able for me all the time. I've NEVER had the experience of money flowing to me effortlessly. I have nothing to draw from...yet. Giving fascilitates my journey at this juncture.
