Absolutely, and the truth is that I never once
cheated on my husband in thought, word or deed.
He was a musician and a disc jockey who had
his own fan club formed for him. If I had not
allowed him to enjoy the women in his life, and
feel confident that I was the one snuggling up
next to him in bed each night, I would have never
stayed married. I chalk it up to great communication
plus neither of us were really jealous types.
My childhood sweetheart and I felt that friendship
that spanned decades was so important as those
friendships are hard to come by and also it is
important to be able to learn to trust ones self
with people of the opposite sex. It is not always
about sex. My best friend of my adult life is a
guy whose wife is so glad he has me to visit with
as when I met him he was dealing with paranormal
stuff which I am comfortable with and so yeah,
we battled his demons together and he healed but
we never forgot the bond we forged as he went through
his "dark night of the soul". I love him as much
as I do any of my brothers and treat him as such.
Of course, his brother-in-law, is a police officer
and when he saw us eating lunch together at a local
restaurant and his eyes widened as big as saucers, I
insisted my friend introduce us so that there was
no chance of any misunderstanding, although if it
had gotten back to my friend's wife, she would have
gut laughed great big.
I hope you are able to continue to cultivate your
relationship with your friend. Even if it is only
a friendship, those are often more valuable and
sometimes when I meet someone I really resonate with,
I am up front about not wanting to ruin a good
friendship with any "show me yours and I'll show
you mine hanky-panky".
You have my vote of confidence~!
blessings & best wishes,
Zoe
