Hey out there... I just joined the site because my doctor suggested, more insisted that i use mirena. Two years ago, at 19, I almost died from a pulmonary embolism(blood clot in my lung) caused by the pill(yasmin). I was started on birth control when i was 13 because the amount of bleeding and pain during my period was unbearable. Every woman on both sides of my family has had endometriosis. from the time i was 13 up till i was taken off yasmin due to the blood clot i had gained 80lbs and suffered from major Depression and an axiety disorder. after being off yasmin for a month i had already lost about 30lbs and stopped having panick attacks. The drawback now though is that every time aunt flow comes along, i can't even function i'm in so much pain, and i lose so much blood that i'm sick all the next week. My doctor says minera is my only option but i'm reading all your posts and i'm freaking out. I would greatly appreciate any feedback you ladies could provide. Thank you.
