european credit cards?? hmm. that isn't clear at all from the site--in fact they make the point to assure the 'shopping cart' works, and then list all the usual cards as well as the languages of the book--and the order form *feels* like it works. You'd think they could respond via email to help you buy the book! Don't seem keen at all.

"at an impasse". yes, I understand. I didn't mean to sound dismissive with my "forget about the struggle"--was only pointing to the simple miracle that tells you you could hear (even for seconds only) perfectly--Therefore--it is possible, period.

You sound as though it's quite fine for you to be where you are right now--I mean: what if it is, (what if you like being 'alone' or cut off from others, even though you're frustrated?) I know that sounds miserable, if there's resistance. Yet- it seems that it serves you, for the time being,(who can say at what level) and I don't mean that in any negative way, considering we are only aware of about 1/10th of what is actually 'going on' at any one time. Maybe you are sifting through coming to clarity. That's why I suggest not struggling.
