Good reply Nadia to micaiah's post.
You are right about cold water, the only exception is in tropical and sweltering climates where (even while fasting) you need to cool down.
Cold water will inhibit cleansing and to some extent healing as well.
Room temperature has always been considered to be the most advisable.
