Hello hypogly77,

I also have hypoglycemia and severe IBS. I had frequent constipation with my ibs.

Water is extremely important for hypoglycemia. Being hypoglycemic, you will need to drink more water compared to most people. 8 glasses per day is optimal.

Complex carbs help for both hypoglycemia & ibs.
It helps w/hypoglycemia as it keeps your blood Sugar constant.
Note: Not all wheat products are good. You will have to read the labels to see which products are whole grain/whole wheat. Products that say enriched are not good.

The fiber from the whole grain/whole wheat products also helped me with my constipation.
Now I do get some ibs symptoms if I eat too much; therefore, I try to limit the portions for each meal.
As for fruits and vegetables, I have to eat my veggies cooked...and the fruits I just started introducing back into my diet.

For IBS, I take: 4 oz of (pure) aloe vera juice per day..2 oz in the morning and 2 oz at night (if there are any additional ingredients such as juice..they do not work) Now if I am eating something with monosodium glutamate or msg, then I will drink about 4 oz during my meal.
I also take probiotics (digestive aid for ibs: I actually take them with each meal as my ibs is severe)
Sometimes I have to take fiber pills if I am eating badly.

As you've noticed, caffeine, stress and fatty foods are triggers for ibs. Therefore, eating a healthy Diet is important.

Hope this helps!
