I've read a lot about other people having nosebleeds from oil pulling. I personally, have noticed an increase in phlegm production(nasal & from the lungs). I've been pondering this and I have a THEORY...I believe that with our swishing/pulling action we are stimulating those areas of excretion, leading to increased cleansing. Now, if you have dry/raw areas in your sinus cavities I can certainly see that pulling might cause a nosebleed. This is just a theory, folks. Here's a link to a picture of the anatomy of the sinuses:
