H.Pylori is a common and perfectly normal denizen of the stomach that is normally kept in check by healthy gastric acidity. Chronically inadequate or suppressed hydrochloric acid production can cause H.pylori to overgrow and spread throughout not only the endothelium of the the GI tract, but ultimately the vascular system, as well. It is well covered in the literature but little known that H. Pylori is also a major vector for cardiovascular disease, as the chronic inflammation sets up a cascade of pathological changes to the cardiovascular system.
Hypochlorhydria (or chronically low gastric acidity) is often a consequence of vegetarian/vegan diets (that are low in protein...later becoming intolerant of protein with further reduced HCl), diets excessively high in carbohydrates, chronic states of stress, low thyroid function (which inhibits gastrin, which in turn inhibits HCl secretion), pernicious anemia, and zinc and B-vitamin deficiency. Early symptoms include gas and bloating after meals, indigestion, intolerance to high protein foods and reflux symptoms (contrary to popular myth, gastric reflux is almost always a consequence of too little acid and not too much....but this takes a long time to explain). Chronic reflux is a very suspicious sign of H. pyolri overgrowth.
In time, the H. Pylori will actually grow into and suppress the parietal cells of the stomach, responsible for secreting both hydrochloric acid and intrinsic factor (needed for B12 absorption). In doing so it makes an ideal, lower acidic environment for itself. ---Then these buggers really flourish, erode the stomach lining and cause it to inflame. The stomach becomes sensitive, vulnerable and the H. pylori can eventually ulcerate the lining. Not fun.
A stool test for detection of H. Pylori overgrowth only runs about $50 and is extremely reliable/accurate. I'm not as familiar with the use of Miracle-Mineral-Supplement in eradicating H. Pylori, but do know that it tends to be fairly responsive to a variety of natural/herbal compounds. Rampant H. Pylori infections can also be easily transmissible among family members and even pets---so it is good to treat whole households if one person is known to have a problem with this.
Just a little H. Pylori 101....(not that you asked). :)
