I believe the iron pills simply reducing the acid in your blood & stomach by converting Hydrochloric Acid to Ferrous Chloride and Hydrogen.

Fe + 2 HCl → FeCl2 + H2

You would be much better served by taking a few TUMS as too much Iron in your diet is dangerous. I highly recommend TUMS and/or Tagamet HB taken orally along with liquid licorice applied topically to the entire genital region with a small spray/mister bottle. You can also apply Aloe Vera and take it internally to reduce acid.

Humans have found a nice method to balance right between too acidic (viral playground) and too basic (bacterial playground). Just be careful not to swing too far either direction.
