Jim Humble, in his book 2, does mention that when you buy the sodium chlorite it should come in the form of flakes.

But when i began researching sodium chlorite suppliers, i found a supplier in Ohio that sold sodium chlorite in a chrystaline/powder form. It was at a very much reduced price that had me wondering whether it was the right stuff. Not sure if it was a typo or it really came in a powder form.

I did find one in Ohio the 80% stuff is much cheaper
