You Mentioned that you check your blood glucose.
"my blood glucose on occasion after meals."

The proper way to check your blood glucose is a fasting level, and then if it is abnormal then maybe at certian intervals after taking a proper glucose load.

By checking "blood glucose on occasion after meals" tells nothing and would have large swings.
