Yeah it's better just to brush. Having any taste in the mouth can effect the fast because the brain can respond to the taste by redirecting energy to the digestive system. I think BlueGreenShimmer on here uses bicarb to brush with which is probably okay because it certainly doesn't taste like any food I know of! :)
