Hi ladies,

I just thought that I would post my experience now that I've had the darn thing out for 3 weeks.

I got my Mirena at the end of August '07 and I had it removed January 14, '08. So, I had it in for about 4.5 months.

I didn't notice much of a difference after having it out, but I did experience some sort of small crash around 10 days post removal that lasted for a couple of days. I had bouts of anxiety and extremely painful lymph nodes in groin, axillary, and neck area. I also had a lot of general aches and pains in muscles and joints.

Well, exactly two weeks post removal, I woke up and felt like a new person. I couldn't believe it. I feel my old self again, except for a few lingering side effects. The debilitating fatigue is gone. I wake up refreshed and ready for the day and I can go all day and get things done. I could still take an afternoon nap, given the opportunity, but I was like that before Mirena. I never get a nap though because of my kids and I am still going strong into the night.

It has been 7 straight days of feeling great. I expect to have some relapses as my hormones cycle, but for now I am excited. I feel so much better. I got my period a couple of days ago and I didn't even have PMS symptoms or anything. I just have to remember not to get down if some of the symptoms return, as I know the likely will. I was so nervous to get this thing out because I was afraid this would not be the solution to all my weird symptoms, but now I definitely believe that it was. Evil Mirena!

Anyway, here are a list of the symptoms I've had and how much they have improved since removal. I vowed to make sure I stay and post if I have success so that others needing support can look somewhere for some hope.

heartburn-95% better
fatigue-100% better
anxiety-70% better
electrical buzzing/vibrating sensations-95% better
electrical shock feeling in toes upon walking-98% better
muscle twitches-95% better (eye is only thing still twitching and it does it only a couple of times a day now, rather than all day long).
constipation-100% better
weakness in left side of body-98% better
eye sight and blurred vision-98% better

I can't even remember all of my symptoms because there have been so many. The only things that are still bothering me much are dizziness and sinus congestion/fluid on ears. I think that the two are probably related. I'm hoping that once I get the fluid to drain and clear my sinuses that the dizziness with go away. Even though the dizziness is still there though, it has improved. There were a couple of days last week where I went the whole day and didn't notice being dizzy.

There is hope ladies. There is a light at the end of the tunnel!
