Progress curing sinus and allergy problems represents significant progress in my opinion. If many oil pullers have achieved similar results, then I am willing to believe that this therapy has merit.
Better oral hygeine and stronger teeth do not represent progress in my opinion. The same results can be achieved by brushing your teeth and using mouthwash regularly for only 3 minutes a day. Plus it's cheaper, more effective and it tastes better too.
The phenomenon of turning the oil white in your mouth can also be achieved with almost any translucent liquid. It is not necessarily proof that toxins are being extracted from your body.
When a liquid is mixed with your saliva for 15-20 minutes, it will normally turn white due to oxygenation and dirty particles such as plaque and bacteria mixing with the liquid. The same effect can be achieved by swishing mouthwash or apple juice for 20 minutes.

Oil pulling advocates claim that it can cure all of these ailments:
"head-aches, bronchitis, tooth pain, thrombosis, eczema, ulcers and diseases of stomach, intestines, heart, blood, kidney, liver, lungs and women’s diseases. Diseases of nerves, paralysis, and encephalitis. It prevents the growth of malignant tumors, cuts and heals them. Chronic sleeplessness is cured"

I would really like to see some solid evidence that this technique has helped to cure problems not affiliated with the mouth, teeth, or gums.
