WOW! I haven't been to this forum in over 4 years or so. I was thinking about fasting again but thought of the horrible heartburn I was getting that made me stop that I became quite hesitant in starting ever again.

So, here I am...looking around and what do I find?? A wonderful post about heartburn. I remember asking a similar question several years ago but never got a real answer. Another concern of mine was whether me not having a gallbladder played a role in my severe heartburn during water fasting.

What got me was that I was a-ok by day 10, then I started on another fast a few weeks later and didn't make it past day 8, then after a few weeks didn't make it past day 6, then day 4...then I never fasted again since I figured my fasting days were becoming less and less because the heartburn would start earlier and earlier.

I guess, based on what you guys are saying, is my body was getting rid of the toxins it didn't thoroughly get rid of the first time around. I SHOULD HAVE GIVEN IT TIME! But it was bad, I was scared of making a hole in my esophagus and having more damage than I started with.

Thanks for this great thread...I look fwd to speaking with you all more frequently.
