Well, I did exfoliate mine with a product designed for it. I followed it with moisturizer and sealed it in with petroleum jelly. I did it in conjunction with lysine & stresstabs supplements, so I can't say it cured me. I am however, knock wood, cured.

Pretty much anytime I felt my lips start to dry out and feel like they were about start peeling I would exfoliate, moisturize, seal. Several times a day sometimes. It kept me from getting to the flakey self-conscious stage. Keep your exfoliant gentle if you plan to do it this often.
