The mattress topper is a great idea. I know I am using one until I can afford to replace my old mattress. Another thing you might want to look into is a special neck support pillow. This will help align the neck and keep nerves in the cervical area from pinching. I had a good pillow I bought from my Chiropractor that cost about $20.00. I used it a long time, but came home from work one evening and found the dogs had taken off the pillowcase, the zipper cover and shredded the pillow over two rooms. Now I need a new one also.
