For sure you're going to have to take care of your structure your entire life. It IS fundamental number 1 you know. Very important. But for the most part it doesn't require much care once you get it "normal".

That little hamstring stretch exercise I teach goes a long, long way in keeping the entire spine functional. Otherwise it's a matter of doing the right things to compensate for employment requirements. I'm bent over all day working on patients, well, that tightens my hamstrings, so everynight I make sure they are nice and lose befor I go to bed. Hairdressers always develop lower neck problems. So I teach them exercises to compensate for keeping the arms up all day.

Whatever the structural occupational hazzard is there is always some exercises to negate it. Thus you stay mechanically correct.

Then it's a matter of keeping the joints clean and well lubricated which is your distilled water and daily oils. Go for a little walk everyday and you're home free. Easy...

Pain is supposed to be acquired in specific ways. Certainly not from your occupation.

Doc Sutter rules for the acquisition of pain:

1. You must be having a large volume of fun.
2. You must be making obscene amounts of money.
3. You must be participating in some activity with a member of the opposite sex that requires nudity.

It's okay to hurt yourself in those endevors.

Doc Sutter
