Thank you all for your responses. I wonder why our family doctor has not thought to check him for TMAU...I will ask at his next check up. I am going to try the hydrogen peroxide and see if it helps. I am also going to try to illiminate certain things from his diet (processed foods) and see if it makes a difference.
