Arnold,
The book the secret is also available in movie form. No reference to any analogy,
just thought it'd save you some time. Perhaps you could find it as a rental.

Did I say that? I don't recall it. Or are you just stating one of your beliefs?

You mention self hypnosis. I took a class once. It was held at a YMCA, we sat
as a group on hard metal folding chairs facing a stage where the instructor sat.
He gave the instruction that if anything happened during the session that we were
uncomfortable with we would come out of it. In one session we were
instructed to get in an elevator and push the button to go down.
I did so.
My stomach lurched as the elevator descended.
I came out of it.
Up to that point I wasn't sure if anything was even happening.

The way in which this dreamer was removed from the situation
reminded me of the same type of distancing technique that is used in hypnosis.
The asian mans "Now I've got you" could be seen as menacing,
or comforting. The dreamer only related symbols, not emotions,
so it's up to you which you choose to focus on.
Going on the premise that dreams are aides to help you the choice is obvious.

Even though I've been at this forum for years, I too, am just learning
- a better way-
in which to view them.
Also I get caught up in my own delusions and tend to forget
I am not the center of the world.
In the interest of trying to help others understand I'll let you have a couple
of dreams that are new to this forum.
