I'm not sure if you can compare them like that, but my mom has a large area of skin at the bottom of her foot that she always peels and I used to joke about that I do that for my lips. As for skin on the fingers I hear a lot of people with the problems and fix it up with some cream. I constantly get hangnails, but I could probably get them to leave if I bothered to put on some kind of cream.
